A rare watch designed by Finland's Matti J. Hvyärinen. With its voluminous form and rough-hewn texture, the piece recalls the tumultuous Nordic landscape which inspires the artist. The watch face is beautifully incorporated. It is an exemplary piece of Hyvarinen's work which is both boldly sculptural and refined. With a good wind, the watch remains in fine working order.
Hyvarinen has remained important figure in Finnish jewelry design since establishing his workshop Sirokoru in 1958 at the age of 21. He has been the recipient of numerous international awards and has participated in exhibitions worldwide.
