A striking neck ring designed by Unn Tangerud for the Norway-based studio David-Andersen. The piece displays Tangerud's expressive style of design; the silver appears almost dripped instead of rigidly cast. Her unique aesthetic marries ethnographic influences with space-age details. The neck ring was titled "Chariot" and included in David-Andersen's "Troll Series" of 1964. Pieces from the collection featured simple silver designs which made use of local stones found in Norway. Emphasizing the simplistic beauty of natural materials, this was a new direction for jewelry at the time.
