Marianne Berg for Uni David-Andersen "Silver Series" Neck Ring - Sold
An exceptional necklace designed by Marianne Berg from Uni-David Andersen's innovative Silver Series of 1966. Berg's design epitomizes the new direction of Norwegian jewelry of the time which emphasized the inherent beauty of natural materials. Without traditional enamelling or stones, the silver itself becomes the focus. The pendant features a lovely graphic motif accented by free-moving silver "tendrils". The neck ring has a light facetted hammering and is original to the piece.
Berg joined the workshop of David-Andersen under the leadership of Andersen's grand-daughter, Uni Andersen. In the 1960s, Uni and her team of woman designers were pushing boundaries with their technical innovations and original designs.
