A beautiful brooch from Sigurd Persson’s “Scäla och Ruta” series produced by Swedish firm Stigbert. The pieces from this progressive series were designed to be completely modular. The result are forward-thinking objects that are elegant and sculptural. Despite their simplicity, the design has a distinct femininity.
Before establishing his own studio, Persson was head designer at progressive Swedish jewelry company Ateljé Stigbert from 1946 to the mid 1950s. As part of an earlier generation exploring these new forms, Persson became an important figure in its development, writing many articles about the new movement and in support of upcoming designers.
