A stunning ring produced by Finnish designer Pekka Piekainen. The ring is designed in the sculptural, minimalist style that Piekainen and his workshop Auran Kultaseppa were well known for. Light subtly reflects off the surface of the brushed silver dome. A delicate and unusual design which can be worn two different ways.
About Pekka Piekainen (from Ginger Moro's "Designer European Jewelry"):
Piekainen designed simple, straightforward lines for Kaunis Koru in the late 60's that were unusual for the time. Moving to Turku for Auran Kultaseppa, the second oldest silver factory in Finland, he ventured into silver holloware, and rings and brooches using odd cuts of amethysts in high relief silver settings. His commissions for gifts of State and industrial concerns make him the leading silver designer in Finland today.
