A fantastic pendant with a great history by one of Finland's foremost multidisciplinary designers, Nanny Still. Best known for her work in glass, Still worked with silver in the 1940s and began designing jewelry in the 1970s. In 1976, she designed the Titaani (titanium) collection for the Kultakeskus company.
This colourful collection, made from a material that had not been used before in the jewellery industry, was advertised as something completely new. The kaleidoscopic surface of titanium provided unusual dimensions for the designer's work. Still made use of ancient symbols which were reduced, simplified and modernized to suit the silver and titanium combination. Her pendants included a butterfly, fish, pear, berry, heart and globe and were meant for both everyday wear and special occasions.
