A stunning ring by Finnish designer Liisa Vitali. This lovely design is titled "Gardenia" and was created by Vitali in 1974. Vitali was often inspired by nature. Many have attributed this particular design to forest pools in her native Finland due to the undulating layers of silver and the unique, darkened surface.
Liisa Vitali was part of an avant garde group of jewellers who in the 1960s pushed Finland onto the international stage of design. Beginning her career at a young age, she developed her skills working alongside designer Tapio Wirkkala at the firm of Westerback Oy. Vitali's designs have become quintessentially Finnish - her original creations are still reproduced today.
